Handwriting Examinations
Our handwriting experts can compare two pieces of writing, using scientific principles, and give an opinion as to whether or not they have been written by the same person.
Some of the common documents we examine are Wills, Contracts and Letters.
In order to carry out our examination, we need to compare writing of the same style. That is, we can only compare block writing with block writing and lower case writing with lower case writing. We will compare samples of writing from an individual, with the writing in dispute. Ideally the samples of writing will have been written as part of everyday life, such as letters, application forms and business documents, and be dated around the same time as the disputed writing. Sometimes however, it is not possible to obtain such writings, and we would ask that you obtain samples of writing made on request.
Our experts have many years of experience of examining handwriting, which can be important as often features which appear distinctive to the casual observer may be national or class characteristics. We are one of the few companies who hold UKAS accreditation for handwriting and signature comparisons, which gives you extra assurance as to our quality standards in this area.
