Signatures are often complex pieces of writing, used to identify an individual. Our handwriting experts can help you determine whether a signature on a document is genuine or a forgery.
Some of the common documents we examine are Wills, Mortgage and Loan applications, Benefit forms, Certificates and Legal documents.
For our examinations, we would need adequate samples of the reference signature to be compared with the signature in dispute. We would prefer that these are signatures made during an individual’s everyday life and are dated around the time of the signature in question. This is of particular importance when examining the signatures of either the young or the elderly whose signatures can vary over time. Examples of such signatures can usually be found on documents such as driving licences, passports, bank cards, agreements etc. If such documents are not available, signatures can be taken from the individual on request.
We are one of the few companies who hold UKAS accreditation for handwriting and signature comparisons, which gives you extra assurance as to our quality standards in this area.
